Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PROJECT PONTE (the "Service"), a real-time bilingual video calling application operated by Spencer Brake ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity on your account. Tell us at admin@projectponte.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Free and Pro tiers

• Free: 30 minutes of translated speech per calendar month. The counter resets on the 1st of each month.
• Paid plans: Starter ($5/month, 10 hours), Plus ($10/month, 20 hours), Pro ($20/month, unlimited). Billed monthly via Stripe. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from your account; access continues through the end of the current billing period.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

• Send or solicit illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material, threats, or harassment.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Probe, scan, or attempt to breach the security of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service without written permission.
• Use automated tools to create accounts or generate traffic that exceeds reasonable individual use.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

5. Content you transmit

Your video and audio are sent peer-to-peer between you and your call partner — they do not pass through our servers. The text transcription of your speech is briefly sent to our translation provider (Anthropic) and is not stored.

6. Payments and refunds

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Payment is processed by Stripe; we don't see or store your card details. Refunds are not provided for partial months, but you can cancel anytime to prevent future charges.

7. Changes to the Service

We may add, modify, or remove features at any time. We'll try to notify you of material changes via email or in-app.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by emailing admin@projectponte.com. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that translations are accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that it will meet your requirements. Use it for important communication at your own discretion.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
